One of the things I'm most proud of as an Australian is our ocean culture.
And so we need to feel safe in our water.
I don't like the idea of needlessly killing animals.
And I think there's a lot of data out there that shows that culling doesn't work, especially for these sharks like great whites.

So, yeah, I think either extremes aren't options.
I think we can't just leave it and expect it to fix itself, but I think curling isn't the right solution.
In my opinion, the drone seemed like a pretty harmless option with a lot of upside, particularly on that day at Coogee.
I understand that they have to be cautious of the airspace and the planes.
That's definitely a real risk, but...
From my understanding, most of the lifesavers have to get licensed to control those drones so they will know that they can't fly into that airspace.
And it was such a clear day that you could see from the footage how easy it was to see that shark and the water would have been able to get cleared before the shark actually came into the bay.
So I know that there's already action being undertaken to get more drones out there.
In terms of what else needs to be done, I think there needs to be people that understand the issue more than me taking the time to sit down and make a plan.
So I'm not going to give a precise answer, but I'd like to encourage the governments and the people that can help to mitigate these risks.
