get into the whole odd couple thing um lexi so when she was pitching this to the office because i can't take any credit i definitely in my mind was like i really want to be in a tag team it's not because i've never been in a successful tag team and always been a solo act um

She tells this story all the time.

And I think when she was pitching, she was talking to the writers and saying like, my first two years at FCW NXT, there was like some bullying going on with her.

Yeah.

And she said that I'd always had her back, but I, what we weren't like close, but like she just knew that I could count on you could count on me.

Um, and that stayed with her throughout the years.

And then also we've been against each other.

We had a big match survivor series, uh,

Um, we, I think was either raw champion.

She was the raw champion.

I was a SmackDown.

And then we wrestled each other again at Hell in a Cell, like in 2023.

So we'd had these like great one-offs and stories, but I think there was like more to tell, but she kept pitching and pitching and they were like, I don't think this is going to work.

She's so beloved.

And I'm so freaking hated.

How are they going to put us together?

And when they did, people were just like, oh, this clicks.

But I think it's due to our off screen chemistry of the respect that we have for each other.

And like she's a superstar in her own right.

And so am I. So like you don't feel like one is having to dumb down themselves for the other.
