Now, before anyone gets defensive, this isn't about me attacking another business.

Every business owner gets to make their own decisions, no matter what, of course.

But it does create a really important learning opportunity for me to share with you.

So let's actually look at the numbers.

A large full groom.

is never going to be a one-hour job.

In most salons, you're looking at a minimum, I mean a bare absolute, guns blazing the whole time, short coat, minimal needing to be done, two hours.

typically longer depending on coat condition, behavior, drying time, styling requirements, whether the dog arrives matted, whether the dog arrives in a good mood.

At $90 for a large full groom, you are generating $45 per hour at most.

at most, which, you know, oh, sounds okay initially, $45 per hour, not bad.

Until you remember, that's not profit, that's revenue.
