But as I grew up, you know, I became a more passionate reader.

And I've noticed this with some of the authors that I've interviewed.

Is a lot of the time the authors that I've interviewed had something unusual

maybe they've grown up in a remote area in in Australia, they've been, you know, on their own or they've been an only child or whatever.

And that draws them to books and reading.

And I think me being an immigrant drew me to reading and story, you know?

And so then I thought I wanted to be a teacher.

I don't know why I did that.

And it it it was terrible.

I was a terrible, terrible teacher.

And also well I didn't finish.

I was on a prank and the tutor that was training me or observing me

She came over and she said now

Listen, I just don't think this job is for you.

I can't see a passion or an affection for the children.

Yes, that was true.

And you know what I didn't like about it is that you couldn't go out to lunch.

You couldn't have a coffee.

Like you were in that environment all day.

And I was in a long day care center working and there was a bookshop upstairs and she said there's a summer job upstairs in the bookshop.
