And sometimes they will say, yes, go for it.

But a couple of times they've said, yeah, I don't think this is the one.

which is fine.

I put it aside and start something new.

This was different because what Victoria, my lovely bride and Jenny and my amazing grace experience, my wife's and my daughter saw was almost what you have in that galley you were reading from a minute ago.

I will never have that experience again.

Yeah, I mean, the reason why I'm on social media is because it's fun.

I mean, obviously, there's a lot of toxicity out there.

For example, I always, always tell younger writers, dear God, when your first book is published, never, ever read your reviews on Goodreads or Amazon.

Therein lies the path to madness.

But the reality is that so many book reviews are gone.

There's so little book coverage compared to when I started, which is why we need to interact on places like threads, on sub stack, listening to podcasts like the shit nobody tells you.

because that's our human connection and that's our book community.

And yeah, a lot of my posts aren't about books, whether my books or other people's books.

They're about my dog, my cats, my lovely bride, movies I've just seen, the fact that American democracy is in the midst of a dumpster fire.

All of those are things I will talk about as well.
