And so much to her shock,

when she runs into Kenny Foster, the dead caddy's kid sister and one of the kid sister's pals at an ice cream shop in the village, she asks to see the bedroom because she's never seen it.

And that's when you get a real sense of what Mira is feeling, not because Mira tells you, because Mira tells you what she does in that bedroom.

Well, you use the term memoir, and this is a faux memoir.

by design, but it is always also, and the wonderful thing about whether you're writing a novel in the first person past,

or you're writing memoir, is you can have, as you said, foreshadowing.

And it is really clear that dread is my jam.

You can see dread in all of my books.

You can see it best in the best books.

So by choosing first person past, I could layer in dread.

I could layer in foreshadowing.

For example, this is the first time I've ever written a novel with a table of contents.

And if you look at the table of contents, and I don't have the book within reach, but if you look at the table of contents, you can read the three parts.

And Bianca, if you want to read the three parts out loud, you can see foreshadowing in all its glory.

Or I can't.

It depends.

Yeah.

So, I mean, you know, I mean, I'm telling the reader quite clearly in act one, everyone is telling Mira, oh, don't worry.

There will never be a trial.

And then in part two, well, there's depositions.
