In the Australian ETF space, I remember when I launched StockSpot that the cheapest product out there was actually a State Street product that charged 0.29%.

It would have been spectacular at the time.

At the time it was awesome.

And then Vanguard came out and halved that and charged around 0.15 at the time.

And it's only got lower from there.

You know, BetaShares came out and then halved that again, you know, then GlobalX came out and came underneath.

So everyone is basically fighting to have the lowest headline fee.

Once you're down to the low basis points, there are sort of other factors that you need to consider, like how closely they're tracking the index, you know, this spread that you're crossing on, you know, when you go to your online broker and they, you know, crossing the buy sell spread, which means, you know, what's the

How tight is it between the buyer and the seller in the market?

All of these ultimately are even bigger factors than price.

And so, you know, that's what we see at StockSpot is, you know, if you're comparing an ETF that's charging 0.05 or 0.04, that's not the factor that's driving it.

Well, through two ways, I would say.

One is through scale.

So even if you're charging five basis points, if you have $20 billion under management, that's a sustainable product.

I think the challenge is if you've got a low fee and you don't have any assets, it doesn't work out.

And we do see ETFs that shut down.

The other way I think is a more interesting one.

And, you know, I go back to the famous example my parents would always share with me at McDonald's is the 30 cent cone.

You know, the 30 cent cone was there to get you in to the store.
