And what really I took away was like, I didn't care who you were when you got to Duke or when you got to Utah.
And they had guys come in that were big names.
You weren't bigger than him or the front of the jersey, the name on the front of the jersey.
Like those programs were so established, your ego was at the door, right?
If I walked in or Elton Brown walked in or Shane Battier walked in or Jason Williams walked in, Dunleavy walked in, Carlos Boozer walked in, you weren't bigger than Duke and you weren't bigger than coach.
Same thing with Utah, right?
Like I walked in, or Britton Johnson, McDonald's I've worked at, walked in, or Keith Van Horn comes back and turns down the draft.
You weren't bigger than Utah, you weren't bigger than Coach.
And how to go about that, you win, you hold guys accountable, you coach them up, and you're not trying to be their friend, right?
Like you're trying to make them a better basketball player and a better human being.
Those are the two things where I'm like, oh man, these guys got it established, right?
And there's a way they go about it.
The difference was Coach Majerus was a big-time teacher, slow it down, stop.
If it was like your foot was off to the right or left or you're spacing, you weren't quite in the deep corner, it was like stop, stop.
So there was a lot of stopping and teaching.
Kay wasn't like that.
Yeah, he taught, but that practice was like we were going, right?
