I'm not quite sure, you know, I'm probably still, you know, recruited simply because of my size and my ability, but I'm not quite sure I blow up the way I did simply because Mike was, Mike made everybody better.
And then once he, once you got him assists, like he would make like, you know, you became one of his guys.
Right.
And so, um, where I think that, um,
Some players, like I think you put Aja Devonsa anywhere on the court as a 14-year-old, 15-year-old, 16-year-old, he's going to shine because he doesn't need anybody.
All he needs is a space, a couple shooters, and the ball in his hands.
He'll make himself look like a top two player everywhere he goes.
I don't think that's true for mainly big guys.
They need creators.
They need creators to help them receive the ball.
It's just like a tight end or a wide out.
If you don't have a good quarterback, there's only so much you can really do.
So for someone like me, I needed to create pass-first guard.
So that was really, really huge for me when you're thinking about making your decision or going into that.
Now, if I'm with my high school team and I went to a public high school, I don't think it really matters, right?
As long as I got a team with a philosophy, a structure, and guys that all want to play together and like each other, I would have been fine.
But at a camp like that, you have to have the right people around you.
And I was a player that needed a guy like Mike.
My advice is to honestly make the right play.
And I know that sounds super simple, right?
