It's not like he's never done it.
He has done it.
He has hit big home runs.
He has had good series.
He has had big moments.
And I expect the next time he's in a situation that he will come through because that's what the greats do.
It's accurate.
Okay, that's fair.
That's a divide that's fair, I think.
But again, it's more of because it furthers a narrative.
That's the only reason.
And the real reason for my frustration is I genuinely do not believe there was the other side of this.
I don't think if Aaron Judge didn't have the abject failure, as the governor called it, if he hits the home run there, the people who want to call him the greatest hitter in the regular season but not the greatest hitter or not a big-time performer, they're going to stick to that narrative and they're going to call this a tournament in March and it doesn't matter.
He's got to win for the Yankees.
That's what's going to be said.
So there was no winning in that situation.
He was either going to be Mr. March or he was going to be can never do it in a big spot.
That was it.
Those are the two options.
Because Harper already did the heavy lifting, and Judge would be able to coast off of his coattails.
