Well, he's a very polarizing figure, especially since he bought Twitter.
But he has become a favorite of the very online right.
And I think that's who DeSantis is trying to court.
Look, even before it went so poorly, it didn't make a ton of sense.

I think it's weird to associate yourself with Elon Musk in that you have to kind of own everything he says and does from here on out.
But then it went so badly that even the choice of doing it with Elon Musk kind of got overshadowed.
So I think you have to always think of there's a difference between politicians who are good at retail politics and politicians who are good at more sort of bigger state TV ad politics.
DeSantis is the latter.
So Florida is not a state where you're going to meet most of the voters who are going to vote for you, right?
The campaign plays out through TV ads.
If you have a good TV ad maker and you're pretty good on TV, that's how voters will get to know you, through ads.
Unfortunately for DeSantis, the presidential race is not that.
The presidential race is in places like Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina, at least to start.
