So I was trying to find a way to write about those two things smartly.
What I didn't want to do, and we've talked about this on the show many times, is anytime you write about politics, it feels as though you alienate half the country with your first word.
So I was trying to find a way to write something that was about politics, but not a polemic for one side or the other.
So this was what I took to be the sweet spot, which is a book that looks at the sports presidents played, the sports presidents watched, the sports they loved, and what it tells us about them.

This is not like why Democrats are bad or why Republicans are bad.
It doesn't touch on the personal politics of any of these guys.
It's really about them through the lens of sports.

Bill Clinton, we got close to.
Barack Obama, we got close to.
George W. Bush, we got close to.
Beyond that, Donald Trump and I don't have a relationship where he's gonna call me.
It's unlikely.
