Council Member Showalter.
Okay, so that motion is to approve the balance of the consent calendar, which I believe is everything except 4.2, and the motion was by Council Member Showalter, the second was by Council Member Ramirez.
Is there any public comment on the consent calendar?
I don't see any, so we're ready for a roll call vote on the balance when you're ready, city court.
Yes.
Thank you.
We'll turn to item 4.2.
Council Member Hicks, did you want to start us off?
Yes, so 4.2 is improvements to a facade grant program that we've had for several years.
And I'll start off by saying I like all the improvements that staff has suggested to the facade grant program.
I'm not, I didn't pull it to complain about them.
And in fact, this program's really important to me because cities I've worked in, principally Oakland, had
fabulous facade grant program that, over time, reduced vacancies, increased foot traffic, and increased business in the city, and was one honors for doing so.
And it didn't do that alone.
There were other supplementary programs.
Facade grant programs are one thing I really have faith in, in our economic vitality plan.
I believe it needs continual improvement, as many of our programs do.
And so I talked both to our community development director, our economic vitality director, and
to Mr. Katz from the Chamber of Commerce about my, you know, several hundred ideas for how to improve it, and narrowed it down to two that, oh, I see they're smiling, to just two of those ideas.
So those were, and feel free to reword this if you need to narrow it more.
