I mean, but like Neil, I had sort of hand-me-downs from, bizarrely, I think from cousins...
And things that my dad had found or bought in jumble sales or... I remember when we were growing up, because my dad was an engineer.
He was a mechanical engineer.
He could make one of those generation of people that could make or make work virtually anything from a steam engine.
He had a workshop that had a lathe in it.

Probably in the day when it might not necessarily have been an entirely licensed item in his possession.

So the dinky car, it was probably dinky, although all of my memories are the Aston Martin DB5.
And was the DB5 the one or was it the man from uncle car?
When you press the button on the top, the windscreen cracked.
And when you pressed it enough times, you had three cracks in the windscreen.
And all the ones I ever saw, because they were secondhand, already had the cracks in the windscreen from the basically bullet holes.
I do remember the Lotus Esprit, because the Lotus Esprit was the first car I was ever aware that suffered a recall, because the Corgi Esprit, there was something about it that didn't quite work, even on the model one as advertised.
and it was a big fuss probably in the comics we were reading, that Corgid had to recall these like a real car because something hadn't worked about them.
But the biggest emotion I had when I thought about this question was, and Neil, you prompted it a moment ago with your great allusion to the upturned sofas and chairs.
