And in fact, the evidence indicates that we're on a trajectory where we're not really saving any money by saving.

A lot of the question is whether the U.S.
is a part of the world community or not.
And I think there are two really important foundations where the U.S.
really needs to think of itself as a part of the global community.
One is in terms of these emissions reductions.
And the administration's argument is based on the idea that, well,
If we cut emissions, nobody else is going to follow along.
And if we don't cut, whatever the other countries do is going to occur independent of the U.S.
I think that's wrong on both sides, that the U.S.
is an important leader in this area, is the largest historical emitter and the country with the most wealth to dedicate to solving the problem.
And the U.S.
very much sets the standards that other countries are...
ambitious to pursue.
So what that means is that action in the U.S.
is very likely, almost certain, to be duplicated by other countries.
And that's true whether we abandon the commitment to fight the climate crisis or whether we double down and really commit to advancing it.
The other thing that's really important is that
