he's been able to move quite fast on a whole set of policies.
And so if progressives and lefties want to have power and use that in a way that's going to actually make the economy more fair, we got to be doing that hard work right now, even when it seems so
hopeless, even when there aren't Democrats who have power.
Because when you have the ideas, and then when you have the power, and when you have the right person, maybe it's Pete, in the White House, you can get things to move quite fast.
You can have a real breakthrough.
So that's what I'm hoping for, even though it's obviously far away.

I mean, I was on The Daily Show a few weeks ago, and Jon Stewart said that I think he called Musk a market crasher or something like that instead of a market crafter, obviously.
And that stuck with me.
You know, ironically, I think that what Musk and a lot of those folks are doing is really important.
I want government to be more efficient.
I want it to be more effective.
I talked to a lot of people in the Biden administration in doing the research for this book, and I would say almost all of them would agree that government needs to be trimmer, faster, more efficient.
All right.
That's not what Musk is doing.
That's not what Musk is doing.
I mean, they are smashing the institutions of government.
And maybe one example, one crisp example that nobody seems to be talking about would be helpful.
The IRS over the past few years had made it possible to file your taxes in five clicks online through something called direct file.
