The Delta flight was delayed like 40 minutes.
And I an email that was like, if you want to cancel this, you can get a full refund.
And then I think the Alaska flight left on time and the American flight was delayed.
And I ended up taking the South It was Southwest.
I took a Southwest flight.
But two of the four flights ended up on the day of being delayed enough that I could have, had I paid cash, cancel for free and get a full refund.
Now, had I canceled them a day before, no full refund.
So if you're booking a flight and you don't want to take it, don't cancel it now unless you need that credit to book something else.
Wait until the last possible second.
Now don't wait until too late, because you don't want to be in a meeting and then forget and then you lose out on everything.
But usually if you cancel it up to like 10 minutes before scheduled departure, which is important because if the flight's late, it might have a new departure time.
But if you cancel it 10 minutes before scheduled departure and the flight's late,
or the schedule changes or anything, you get a full refund.
So if I book a paid fare and I'm not going to take it, I will just let it sit there and set like a couple alarms or calendar reminders because I would say half the flights I've taken in the last six months have either changed their schedule or been delayed.
And if any of those things happen, you get a full refund.
