We're not proposing that.
I think when you add in an education campaign and for the first time,
some sort of register of people who are on cannabis, medicinal cannabis, whereas at the moment it doesn't exist, then we are bringing some order to a situation that's rapidly evolving.
And of course, police will throw the book at anyone that doesn't have this regime or has the presence of another drug
in their system.
And I know that if you speak to some other doctors and those that support this regime change, they will say to you, yes, cannabis is in the system for a proportion of fatal crashes in New South Wales, but usually so are other drugs, MDMA, ice.
cocaine, heroin, other impairments, and they're often matched with cannabis.
Well, all of them will still be covered by our roadside drug testing regime in New South Wales.
We're not getting rid of that.
We've got a common sense pathway through in recognition of the fact that there are hundreds of thousands of lawful Australians that are going through the correct medical procedure and their doctors are prescribing it.
Not me, not the state, their doctors.
Well, it's a private member's bill and on matters of abortion, I think a lot of listeners may not know this, but generally speaking, political parties allow a conscience vote.
So you vote your conscience.
I wouldn't be supporting that bill, but I know that the proponents of the bill are advocating it on the basis of outlawing sex selection abortions in New South Wales.
That is already illegal.
You can't seek an abortion in New South Wales for the purposes of terminating the pregnancy on the basis of gender.
How do you monitor something like
Well, I mean, that's a good point.
It's incredibly difficult to do that.
It may well be the case that people that are seeking abortions are unlikely to disclose that to a medical professional.
