And so it wasn't, you know, whereas sometimes, and we'll get to it more towards the end, sometimes, you know, King can, his writing can feel like the narration of a comic book.
And then sometimes it can feel
very real and very totally human and and like you're sitting there watching it and that's how the callahan bit felt for me um and and so i really like i was really soaking up those chapters and then like the you know the the places he worked home and the other place and and then the the relationship was it with lupe oh yeah oh that one kiss the one kiss he has
So to me, that was a massive moment.
That was massive.
I had not seen that from King yet, and it felt very real.
It didn't feel like he just decided, you know, because sometimes he's like, I'm going to put, you know, I'm going to put a clown in this scene or whatever.
This felt like really thought out and really human.
And I loved it.
And it made me just really enjoy those Callahan scenes.
And as I was reading it and we get towards the end, the thing I already mentioned about his vehemence against Susanna getting an abortion, you know, throughout the whole thing, his arc is he's like, first of all, he's called a false priest by Barlow, right?
That comes up over and over again.
He basically, even though he still wears the collar...
he basically is like yeah i'm no longer part of this like i i maybe someday yada yada yada and he he he does he treats himself as a fallen priest sort of
