It's a sort of, yeah, it's a sort of interesting, um,

cul-de-sac that you kind of of necessity get painted into when you when you depict characters as competent as the gunslingers yeah which is and i think it's part of the reason why the the battle itself is kind of anticlimactic and why we spend you know 800 pages just getting up to like the town hall meeting where they get hired because once they're hired like it's a foregone conclusion they're so competent that you have to give them

the dry twist or you have to give them, you know, demonic pregnancy just to handicap them a little bit, which is kind of what the rest of the series

not spoiling anything, but as we drive towards the conclusion, it can no longer be just about battles.

It has to be about things like legal contracts and time travel.

I was really intrigued to hear you say that earlier, Chris.

I'm kind of getting us off track a little bit.

But I was really intrigued to hear you say that it felt like a seamless continuation of the previous books.

Because for me, and I was curious if you felt this way, Neil,

the narrative voice changes ever so slightly for me.

And I think some of it is because like literally it was a new publisher.

And so when we were reading books five, six and seven, the font was different and like things just like kind of felt different.

I can never quite pinpoint it, but like the narrative voice feels a little different in these last books.

But I think part of that is because

this is the book where it it is no longer a series about getting to the tower now it's about saving the tower which is such a different sort of vibe yeah than the previous four books which is just kind of this unanswerable mystery that needs to be achieved in some for some sort of cosmic purpose but now they're guns for hire and they're doing a thing and they're really good at doing a thing so that just like changes the energy

They can be on their own if they needed to be.

I didn't have anything come up that made me think it wasn't.

So, so, so my default is that they're in the same world with, you know, it's interesting.

I mean, yeah, similar to, to Chris.
