And then when when we get that description of what being root actually does and what it is like, and it really kind of.
diverged the narrative from being like these kids come back developmentally disabled to like this is a fucking body horror curse that like no one would wish on anybody and you know we get touches of the jaunt and we get like just all of this horrific sort of stuff to it and
it was almost a relief to be like, that's what we're fighting for.
Now we're just gonna let them live their lives and like, you know, have as peaceful an existence as they can.
We're not gonna use them.
We're not gonna shove them in front of the reader again and be like, look what we made them do or anything like that.
It's like, it's bad enough that it's like, we're making them plow.

There was definitely opportunity.
I mean, even when, what's his name, the little kid at the end gets his foot stuck, right?
If you would have wanted the mayor to come and lift him up and, you know, a Hodor moment, it would have been perfect.
