Now it's a matter of seeing, can you do this consistently in the postseason?
That seems to be the big question with the Minnesota Wild.
True, but also you think about how that runs counter to Dallas, because let's say Dallas has everyone fully healthy.
You're talking about running through options that include Wyatt Johnston, Matt DeShane, Roddick Fox, Ropey Hintz, whenever he does come back, and that's nothing against what the Wilds have, but at the same time, it does really speak to just sort of that depth that
It is goaltending, and it's not even a conversation because we talked about it with Edmonton as well.
Vegas and Edmonton were the two teams that were one and two in terms of the lowest team save percentage in five-on-five play this season.
And that's a concern, especially when you look at Vegas's underlying defensive metrics.
So if you can find a way to connect the defensive success they've had to getting consistency in that, that is going to be a really dangerous team.
But again, it's a matter of can they take what they've done under Tortorella and parlay it into the postseason?
the youth that that's what it is like it really is the youth that is the question because we talked about the experience and what they have but again like just to sort of illustrate it Lawson Kraus, Clayton Keller, Nick Schmaltz are three of their core players they combine the
Logan Cooley, Dylan Gunther, and J.J.
Paterka have never played in the playoffs.
That is six of your top seven scores.
So again, you're having questions about how this youth is going to fare for the Utah men.
No, that's entirely fair.
It's just, that's the thing is like, if not now, then when granted, you just asked that about Carolina a little bit ago, but it seems like with Utah, you have to be able to sort of trust that youth because to the point you made about Dallas and Colorado, like eventually those young players, they were counted upon because like,
With Colorado, like we saw it with McCarran, McKinnon and Landisog and Branton and with the stars, it seems like every year for a time they were bringing up someone new.
And so if that's the way to win in the NHL, there does come a point where you're going to have to play them minutes.
And it seems like this postseason is the best time because the thought for the mammoth was just get to the postseason.
