Look, last year was incredible.

I don't have to remind anybody up north how, I guess, southeast from where I am right now, but you understand my point.

What transpired there at the end, it's just, it was a magical, magical season.

And I don't always believe in that stuff.

I mean, I do believe in...

Good team chemistry.

I am one of those guys, and I think they certainly had that.

But Springer had bounced back to become Astros playoff George Springer.

Obviously, that did not happen the first three months of this year at all.

Ernie Clement, thankfully, he didn't continue it at playoff, Ernie, but he's been really damn good.

But the rest of it, there were some question marks going into this year because there just weren't enough guys in the everyday lineup, in my opinion, who had enough big league time to say, yes, that's exactly what we're going to get out of that guy.

And maybe that's part of what's happened with now the least productive run-scoring offense in baseball.

I can't believe they're the only team that has scored fewer than 400 runs at this point of the year.

We're 100 games in at this point, so...

I never thought that would happen.

And then the other thing is, the minute Vladdy signed that deal...

He goes from being the kid that everybody loves in that country to, well, you damn well better produce like a $500 million ballplayer.

Because as bad as the season has been for the New York Mets, Juan Soto is producing.

You can't put any of this on him.
