It just defies understanding.
Look, I want to make two points in response to that comment.
The first is that I agree with you absolutely so far as the Israeli political and military leaders are concerned.
There is no doubt whatsoever that all of these operations have sought to be justified on the basis that Palestinians are subhuman.
Some of the comments that have been made indicate that quite clearly.
You referred to the one of the political leader you heard or saw on TV.
Other political leaders have talked about babies being terrorists and that terrorists need to be eliminated no matter who they are or where they are.
Those kinds of comments.
The fact that everybody in Gaza is guilty and responsible for the events of 7 October 2023.
So there has certainly been the dehumanisation of Palestinians by the Israeli leaders and by the Israeli military.
I think, though, my second point, so far as Israeli people are concerned, they have been the victims of this kind of dehumanising language coming from their leadership and
But they have also been deluded.
They have been denied access to the facts.
I can't accept that Israeli people would be willing to tolerate this if they were properly informed about what is going on, about what the soldiers are doing in their name.
The information is not being provided.
The politicians are denying reports like ours.
The Israeli media largely does not provide the information.
It provides government propaganda.
And I feel that Israeli people generally are also victims.
They're victims in a different sense of their government, of their leaders, of their media, and are denied access to basic information that would enable them to make moral judgments about what's happening.
