So they came out and said we wanna uh ban these places from opening up near schools.

Will this be a wake-up call for the food industry to finally, you know, defend their interests?
Now they're literally being treated like tobacco?
Probably not.
And there's a few other things in there.
Um extending the food advertising ban, which only came in in January, but they say, Oh, that's not going far enough.
We need to include billboards and bus stops and all this kind of stuff.
So it's just it's the usual slippery.
Slope stuff.
The only thing I found vaguely interesting about it was how it was such a textbook example of the public health playbook.
Um, the way they presented it to the media, the way they launched it.
It was all about we need to stand up to the food industry.
Politicians need to be brave and bold.
There's the same old cliches we hear all the time, flattering politicians into thinking that the paper tiger of the food industry is something to take on.
And yeah.
