The tax haven Switzerland.

It got to the point where uh Stevenson kept um sort of reaching for these countries.

Countries that like don't have wealth taxes with regard to inheritance or have basically no capital gains tax.

And because they sort of replaced that with a very moderate uh quote unquote wealth tax or tax on wealth, um then then somehow that this was the way to go to add on top of our very complicated tax code as it stands.

I mean, it's obviously nonsense.

And I think one of the things that must have been just cruelly embarrassing.

him is that it is patently so easy to uh dismantle this idea.

A tax that relies on a couple of hundred people, and and if a couple of hundred if less than a couple of hundred people, if a very small number of people make a very easy decision with regard to choosing to base their primary residence in one of their other houses in one of these other countries, uh, because these are the most mobile people on the planet.

It's so easy to see this fragile tax just collapsing so very quickly, as it's done in many different countries that have repealed it over the course of the last 30 years.

Um, such a bizarre idea.
