They try, but it's a world that I can't ever fully understand.

I've tried to think about it because it's our job to cover these people, but I don't know that I'll ever fully understand.

I know my job has been to cover them and

I come away still in awe of their ability to have mastered a game that we all know is difficult.

And I wish them well.

Following morning, 9 a.m., balls in the air.

And Venturi was there.

Jim Nance is, you know, sidekick in the booth for CBS at the time was there and a lot of luminaries.

And Ernie Els on Sunday at Doral had flubbed the chip shot and made double on the 72nd hole to lose the tournament by a shot.

So he's gutted.

But Ernie's scheduled to play in this pro-am the next day.

And there he is on the first tee and also on the first tee.

is the guy that I had seen in those that I referenced, those coffee table books.

I'd never seen him in person until now.
