Why is, because really, I agree with you, the process, the neurochemical processes that are going on in our brain, we are just what it feels like from the inside of that, right?
But so you would say you would reject the idea that all of this could be occurring without the subjective experience.
You think that's just nonsensical?

Some people think that, I know it sounds silly, but I think a lot of people, I mean, some of it is just the philosophical history that goes along with Descartes imagining a mind without a body, but it seems sensible to some people that you could imagine having this mind without the body, vice versa.
And so that is where they sort of feel like, well, no, you have to do the further job of explaining why their subjectivity comes along with these brain processes.
And I'm more sympathetic to your side that I think that they, you know, cohabitate like agency and subjectivity sort of bring each other along.
So I don't.

I would like to say one thing just and quickly, I'll say that I want to reemphasize Dennett's branding issue.
I'm mostly in agreement with a lot of this, but I do sometimes just, I agree with him that there are a lot of ways in which we've been misled by archaic language and the history of philosophy and the sort of persistent bias
tenacious need to report our experience as being unified and stuff like that.
So I think that he's right that we should point out all of these ways in which we've been misled.
I just wish he used different language sometimes.
I really hate illusionism as a phrase, but that's all I wanted to say, just to reemphasize.
Yeah, it's worth reading this quote.
At the end, he sort of concludes this on page, I think, four and forty-three.
Beliefs and desires issue in behavior only as modified and mediated by further beliefs and desires, attitudes and attendings without limit.
Clearly, this holism of the mental realm is a clue both to the autonomy and to the anomalous character of the mental.
