He had this really interesting example where he said, basically everything that we value in other humans can be refined down to the fact that you need to negotiate with a world that is scarce.
Why do I like motivation in someone else?
Why do I like discipline?
Why do I like the ability to tell the truth?
Why do I like prudence?
Why do I like good judgment?
Because you need those things to be able to navigate through a world which is going to apply pressure to you.
