Exactly.
That's how I viewed it and that's how I knew.
I knew I wasn't going to start on the first team at West Brom every week, so I knew, well, why don't I go somewhere to play games and score goals, hopefully, and...
make a name for myself so hopefully one day I could go back to West Brom as a player and that's what it was but it didn't work out like that and I had to move on to other places but it's where I learnt my trade and by the time I was 28 I had 100 appearances down on me Where did you enjoy the most apart from Burnley obviously now in your build up to getting you moved to Burnley?
To be fair, I've enjoyed most places.
I had a good stint with this guy down at Brighton when we won League One down there.
Loved my time at Millwall as well, even though it can be a tough place to play, but we were doing well.
Loved it there and loved living in around London and things like that.
And then Leicester and Leeds have been fantastic as well, even though at Leeds I had a bit of a rough patch as well and it wasn't always smooth sailing there, but in the end it came good and it was a good time.
Yeah, passionate is definitely a word for it.
But they're good in a sense.
When they're behind you and they love you, they're one of the best fans probably in the country.
But when they don't take to you or have a bit of a hold against you, they'll let you know about it.
And they let you know very loudly and very vocally.
But that's because they've got such a big fan base and obviously they have high expectations of what the club should be.
And hopefully they get back there one day.
Yeah, exactly.
It was nice.
I scored quite a few goals at Leeds, and then luckily Burnley came in for me and got my chance to play in the Premier League, which is something that I've always wanted to do.
But it's taken a number of years to get here, but finally I'm lucky I'm here and actually doing all right.
