But I really felt...
But I really felt it the second time around.
But I think it was because I had no food.
And there was a point, though, that we won a Chinese food reward on Survivor 50.
And I think it was like on day 13 or something like that.
Or it was like 14.
I remember saying to myself, this might be the last proper meal I ever get.
So I crammed as much of that Chinese food as I could in my body.
And boy, did I. And I felt an obvious change in my amount of energy.
The weight comes back like super quick.
Both seasons.
Sure.
I mean, I eat a lot when I give myself permission to do so.
So both times I recovered quite quickly, but just the lack of food throughout the entire season really hits you.
And frankly, mostly in the mind, you lose the ability to think in a major way.
earned muscle and you're like oh man it's gone i gotta earn it back and he was like i'm not getting my muscle back it's just like yeah i mean well i mean i lost 15 pounds both times and one time i was there for 35 days one day i was there for 18 days um so that that's uh that's that's where i lost um now you know losing a lot of muscle mass you know i wish you know i wish i could be so lucky uh to have that muscle mass to lose but such is life
Oh, Jay, I think you're being very perceptive.
Like I had a much more concrete plan going in my second time versus my first time.
My first time I had the sheer amount of things that could go wrong on Survivor.
Like you don't know how you're going to be received on the island, especially on your first time.
