Through redemption of the body or salvation of the body, resurrection of the body, but their idea of immortality is now salvation from the body, where we can, so they imagine it's a utopian dream that's just impossible, but they're so deluded in their understanding of what a person is and what kind of happiness they want.

And what salvation they want.

But let me rewind again and and just be in a place of utter compassion where what they're wrestling with

Is the pain and experience of suffering in being a body?

Being a body

is wrought with suffering, and it ends with the horror of death.

We have been pro and this goes the whole way back to Plato.

Plato wrestled with this question of

Being tied to the earth bodily, knowing his body's going to return to dust.

And yet

recognizing within himself this noble eros.

This is where we get the word.

It's a Greek word.

It's from Plato.

What is Plato's noble Eros?

It's this yearning for the eternal

Good, true, and beautiful.

But he couldn't reconcile that with the body.

And so Plato conceived of eternity and and ultimate happiness as being lib the soul is my true self, Plato taught, and the body is a prison from which I must be liberated.
