Yes.
I mean that no, that's exactly it.
It's very easy to see that and rightfully be like, That is that is bad parenting and but where the empathy comes in is when you realize like, oh, this is a damaged person and they are expressing love the only way that they that they know how.
Um and that the journey of this book hopefully is is not in saying that that love wasn't real.
In fact that love is more profound than anything you could possibly imagine.
That love is all there is.
It it's
It's that the way that it is expressed is from someone who doesn't know how to how to do it.
I think that misguided love, speaking of character motivations, is one of the most interesting motivations there is.
Someone who who truly loves but doesn't know how, I think is really a a a fascinating and beautiful thing.
So that would be that character.
I mean, yeah, she does it's all she's not very likable at the beginning.
The other really subtle one.
that is like it almost like you don't notice it because it's just like going along with the story and it's moving.
Um, she's just letting her like six-year-old, five-year-old, um,
uh swim unattended in this pool too like and when her s and when her kid is shouting like come look at me like does not care.
So there's just like an extremely um
Someone who who who has a lot of trauma, who just truly has this love and does not does not how to know how to show it.
And I think part of that is like the answer, and the answer that that is arrived at in the story is like learning to listen, learning to understand that not everyone wants the same thing that you do, that uh the way that you express love might not
be the way that someone needs to receive love and to kind of meet in the middle.
