Really, the point where I reached out for help was whenever I was on a training camp in Font Rameau.
I had my surgery immediately post-Paris.
I was on the recovery back from that and I was out at a training camp.
Me and Tommy headed out to Font Rameau.
A couple of my friends, Izzy and Gabriella, were out there.
So I was jumping on a spin bike.
I was going up to the track and pacing Gabriella on the bike and having fun and looking forward to getting really fit.
And then being on the bike up in the gym there, like absolutely busting myself and constantly needed to jump off of the toilet.
I was like, right, this isn't normal.
And I'll be honest, it was nearly, I was nearly like, I need to get this checked out because I'm going to be running soon.
And it's going to be more of an inconvenience when I run.
And Tommy was kind of like, this isn't normal that you need the toilet that often.
So yeah, mentioned it to...
to Sharon Madigan, asked could I chat to the doc and the institute about it.
I'm very grateful that I had that support because that was all very quick when I got back.
But yeah, that news, my mummy was with me in the hospital in Dublin and it's interesting because I didn't think I was going to get news straight away.
Like usually people go and have like, mine was a sigmoidoscopy, so it was off my lower bowel, wasn't a full colonoscopy.
And usually people find like a little polyp maybe and it's removed and they're like, we'll go test that or we'll, so this is, that's what I, like I thought they're going to tell me I have irritable bowel.
Sharon was like, she thought worst case scenario they would tell me I had Crohn's disease.
Nobody anticipated bowel cancer, nevermind stage four.
