but are finding that they're just routinely rejected when they apply for jobs online.

Now, lots of them are blaming ageism and, you know, AI just rejecting jobs based on age.

And people are talking about Botoxing their CVs and doing, you know, frankly horrific things, which we shouldn't have to do, like removing decades of work experience.

Well, I mean, taking anything off your CV that could cause an algorithm to guess how old you are and how much experience you have, which just turns the whole thing on its head.

You'd think like, if I've got lots of experience and lots of skills, surely an employer will want to know about this.

But because the AI is picking up on the ageism in the selection process, that's what it's learning from.

People are thinking, well, why would we want somebody over 50 when we can

probably get somebody for cheaper who's in their 30s.

This is what we think the system is doing.

There's lots of people who've written in and said that when they did Botox their CVs, to call it a phrase, they were much more successful at being selected for an interview.

And then, although obviously their age would become apparent when they turned up, they would at least have a chance to try and sell themselves to a future employer rather than just being dismissed by a robot.

Yes, I know there is.

I mean, I've been turned down for jobs before.

I was turned down for a podcast presenting job.

I mean, it was a freelance gig.

So, you know, there was no question of me bringing in any kind of employment rights law.

They said, oh, you know, we went with this other person because she's younger than you.

And I think at that point I was 41, which was...

But not the age I expected ageism to kick in.

But, you know, it's certainly there.
