Lucy's boyfriend, Lucy's mum felt that they couldn't really continue a relationship with me because I had that open contact with Chris, my brother.

And I get that.

I mean, I can't imagine, you know, what Lucy's boyfriend experienced and what he went through.

And then Lucy's mum has lost her only child.

I mean, you know, to kind of... Look, I understand it.

Lucy's boyfriend sent me a very nice message

and it was you know it was really hard and I sat on it for a few days I was so upset um because I guess that I went from having everybody and being in Lucy's home house and being in Lucy's new house with her boyfriend and being around everybody to all of a sudden just not being around anyone and this is where I went back to Jen my brother's other sister I'm so fortunate that I have her and she came over to Ireland actually last week and

Um, but I'm so lucky because I actually haven't been in contact with my brother either for a few months.

I just felt I needed to take a step back.

I thought it was just as maybe I do not need to look after me and just kind of, but it was again, you know, it's funny how it happens because by me being there for everybody actually ultimately ended up me having really nobody.

And, look, I hugged Lucy's boyfriend at the inquest and, you know, he smiled at me.

And I know that, you know, I just, that's, I don't know.

I just, I find that really hard.

I find his message really hard because it was so nice.

of how what he said I said I love you so much I just you know I can't you know it's I just can't you know grasp that you keep that open contact even though it was so limited my contact to my brother was so limited um but you know equally I just didn't know what to do and I just said I completely understand I sent him a voice note and I said I completely understand and I completely respect your message you know you you've said it so

you know it couldn't have been more kindly written and I have so much respect for him because of that um and hopefully in the future you know I think hopefully in the future we'll be able to speak again but for now it's just you know I think people need time and people need space and that's really hard yeah it is hard because you you all of a sudden feel a little bit isolated um

You know, I went from staying in Lucy's bedroom at her mum's house and sitting having tea with her boyfriend in her house to then all of a sudden just having none of that.

But I also thought, OK, maybe I need this for myself.

I need to look after myself.
