I teach this novel in my workshops every year and I just taught it in Reykjavik last month.

I think it's perfectly structured.

I think it's just long enough and says just enough.

I really think it's just such a beautiful novel, but it's also, it's set upon, you know, just one summer.

Only one summer passes in this book.

That's the whole piece of time.

And it's one of my favorite books.

You can feel the heat in it.

And you can feel that it's all going to collapse and go very badly.

And I love that.
