Where's the end of this?
Because I keep just hearing little bits of like a Donald Trump soundbite about him giving ultimatums and then changing that ultimatum and I can't engage with that because there's just not a lot of logic going on in his direction.
But apparently basically to get prices down, they either need to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, which that's what Trump's been talking about and kind of trying to negotiate,
Or the war needs to end.
Yes, yes, because that would solve not just... On a lot of different levels.
Yes, yes, solve humanitarian issues as well.
But we haven't seen signs that either of those things are going to happen soon.
And...
And Anthony Albanese did say even if the war ended now, there would be a long economic tail to deal with.
Excellent.
Yeah.
Airlines hiking prices to reflect the rising cost of fuel.
That's already happening.
Farmers are deciding whether to park tractors or whether to risk planting a crop they can't afford to fuel.
And fishing trawlers are tied up at docks because they can't get enough diesel.
And...
Basically, if it costs more to plant and harvest and transport produce, that will eventually show up in what we pay for at the supermarket.
So apparently dairy and fruit and veg are going to be the things that are kind of next impacted.
And then there's, if you think about goods imported from overseas, then that's bearing the brunt of increased fuel prices.
So it's pretty scary.
