Basically, you shouldn't have to accept abuse and misogyny as part of your job.

And you can disagree with a politician.

You do not have to vote for Jacinta Allen.

You do not have to kind of tiptoe around her or pretend that you endorse all her policies because she's a woman.

But there is a difference between criticising someone and engaging with democracy that way and the kind of contemptuous way

way we speak about people who are women, people of colour, people with disabilities, like anybody who just doesn't fit the mould of what we expect.

And I mean, I think it's just quite terrifying that this, I guess, small business owner, would we call him, that he's gathered, that he's gone to the effort of crowdfunding.

He's gathered the townspeople.

He's gathered people to do this.

Enough people thought this was a good idea.

I keep thinking about the people driving the trucks.

Like the complicit... There's a lot of people complicit in this who have not seen that there is something really, really troubling and the iconography itself.

Because it's Jacinta Allen, if you've seen the picture, she's not smiling.
