I think that the system was created in the 19th century out of good intentions for what do we do for kids who have no family who can care for them.
It is originally conceived as a saving system.
It is a well-intended thing.
The problem with foster care is in 1890 whatever, right.
But now, you know, in the last 20 years,
We, American society, we have learned an enormous amount about brain development, particularly youth brain development.
And that is the problem, that foster care as a system, structurally, it is not aligned with what we now know about what
all humans need to develop in a healthy way.
That is the issue, that the structure of foster care, despite its stated aims of permanence, the experience is one of impermanence, right?

These people change.
If you're a lawyer, you're a foster parent, you're a social worker, you're a therapist, everyone's different.
You're a CASA advocate.
