Now, that's at wholesale grass prices.
I mean, there's various ways of expressing them, but we buy from the UK market, so it tends to be in pence per term.
So they had reached over 150 pence per term during the crisis.
They're now down under 100.
They were maybe kind of around the 80 region before this all started.
So they've come down a fair bit of the way.
There's a bit of a way to go yet.
So I think for electricity prices...
Obviously the ESB retail arm increased prices there a couple of weeks ago.
That was kind of a catch-up move on the rest of the market.
A lot of the companies had moved in November, and some of the smaller suppliers like prepay also increased recently.
I don't think we're going to see those prices come down quickly, because we have this thing that the bigger companies, with the exception perhaps of some of the smaller players who rely on the wholesale market, but for the bigger players like the ESB, they buy ahead on the market, they hedge their exposures, so prices haven't increased by as much.
as would be indicated by wholesale prices.
But now there is some of that more expensive gas still in the system, if you like.
So it'll be a while, I think, before we look at prices coming down.
But at least perhaps there might be no further increases or they might be limited anyway.
Yeah, I was looking at some of the, it's an interesting one, I was looking at some of the petrol company websites this morning and we are starting to see retail prices starting to edge back down now from the high levels they'd reached, you know, petrol in the...
unleaded petrol in my local station over the past week I've noticed that yeah I was looking at the Maxol site there and it's kind of indicating reductions that scale as well from the from the highs so down to the 180s perhaps in a lot of cases so that's good and you know there was a bit of noise around this when prices went up about
petrol companies cashing in, gouging and stuff.
Look, quite possibly some word, the odd one was, but a study by the CCPC, the Consumer Evidence Service, found no evidence, said, look, this is a competitive market.
