I'm trying, like I said, trying my best to help move folks forward.

Okay, so the one that I hone in on is not being intentional with the way we speak about money to our kids.

So I fell into this trap for a long time.

So one of the things, you know, again, I'm a parent.

You've got a child, you're in the grocery store, they're asking for something and you're just trying to get your groceries done so you can get home and do the other hundred things on your to-do list before you can get those kids to bed.

And to speed this up, I would say something like, no, we can't have that.

I don't, we don't have the money for that.

And then I move on.

And then I took pause and I thought about it and I'm like, how would this be interpreted if I was the child?

I am with this parent, this person who loves me, and they're saying they don't have money for this thing that I'm asking for.

But I see them buying groceries.

I see them buying gas.

I see them buying this.

I see them buying that.

So it could easily be interpreted as not so much.

We don't have money for that.

It's I don't have money for you or your needs don't deserve our money or any other reason.

perversion of what I've said, but it's not what I mean.

What I'm trying to say in that moment is we have not budgeted for that.

That is not part of our budget right now.
