Yeah, thank you so much for having me.
Um
We started the company a few years ago after seeing my parents go through the Medicare process and just have a really tough time.
Um, it uh took them uh many months, a lot of faxes, a lot of going in person to the Social Security office, which from my perspective was just like, What is going on here?
Um, and ultimately they ended up on a plan that charged them a lot more than it needed to.
Um, and my mom is now subject to late uh part D and
Enrollment penalties, which is just unfortunate because she got that guidance and that could have been uh prevented.
So I used to work at a big technology company.
I used to do a lot of work um with the US government supporting lots of different missions that the government has from military intelligence to uh federal health care.
And just coming from a data and technology background, thought that the way that people have to go through Medicare today.
just makes no sense.
Um the technology is bad, the data is bad, the incentives are misaligned.
Um and I didn't see a company or a way for people, the company that was really supporting seniors in in navigating this this process.
And so wanted to try to start that.
Yeah.
Um to your to your point, people should start getting educated a few years before.
Um so if they are 61, 62, it's a good time to start uh learning the basics um just to familiarize yourself.
You don't need to do anything until you're about 64 and a half, um, a few months before your 65th birthday.
But um really the the key things to think about are what are the healthcare needs you might have not just next year, but over the next few.
years.
