Wider variety of doctor networks, not requiring uh referral to see a specialist, uh uh having more covered um when you do go get healthcare as opposed to paying as you go.
Um so these are just some of the different different things to think about.
Um, but really, I mean, Medicare advisors like Chapter and others exist to help people with this.
Um it's funny you mentioned like your your mother was not.
particularly knowledgeable.
I really don't think anyone in this country, unless it is your profession, really understands how the system goes.
And frankly, most Medicare advisors don't understand how this works either.
But
Uh I was listening to uh a podcast uh a while ago, over a year ago, but a Stanford professor of health economics was doing a podcast on just a health insurance system uh in the healthcare system, not Medicare specifically.
And he made a side comment that um even he, as a professor of health economics at Stanford, does not understand how to sign up for Medicare.
So
It it is very challenging for most people.
Most people assume, as you said, that Medicare is just kind of this thing that happens, you get it and it's done.
That's unfortunate I wish that's how it worked.
