Sometimes all those little signs of collapse, maybe you can't totally ignore.
The pulse of the Tigers has been bad.
But it's been hard to explain because, yeah, people in baseball say the sky isn't falling kind of because it's hard to lose 9 out of 10 or 20 out of 27.
Like the breaks of baseball are just supposed to go in your favor every now and then.
Well, that hasn't happened.
The Tigers have played really poorly.
They've had some bad breaks.
They've had some strange situations like the sixth inning two nights ago in Cleveland.
And now here they are.
They're not in first place anymore.
They owe the Houston Astros a favor for playing poorly because the Tigers still have a chance to get in.
But yeah, things are bad.
There's no other way around it.
Yeah, I mean, I think there were definitely warning signs.
I mean, I think most reasonable people would agree the Tigers offensively overachieved in the first half.
They had the third best run scoring offense in the American League.
So looking at the construction of this team, I always kind of felt it was more of an average level offense.
And in the second half, it's been below average.
So there's definitely been some regressions in the mean if you look at the numbers overall.
