Yeah, it's one of those things where you're trying to distinguish how much of this is the ebbs and flows of 162 game season and how much of this is something to be concerned about.
Obviously, it's the worst stretch of baseball the Tigers have played all year.
There was always a part of me that felt like some offensive regression could be coming.
This has been a pretty extreme drop-off, but it's also been combined with some subpar starting pitching outside of Tarek Skubal.
The Tigers really haven't had starters going deep into games.
the bullpen has been a problem going back to the start of june and their most recent series the tigers were swept by the pittsburgh pirates which is kind of hard to do uh the play was a little bit sloppy they were throwing the ball around a couple mental errors a lot of things that have added up to create a really bad stretch so again how much of this is just that a bad stretch
Versus like, okay, well, this can't go on forever.
Or you could be looking at some serious problems.
Now you have a hot first place Blue Jays team coming into town.
It's not necessarily that easy to just snap out of something like this.

they felt almost a little fatigued, even though I know we're coming off the all-star break, but this has been a lot of baseball for a team that is still young.
Some guys who haven't necessarily done this before, or maybe who did it last year.
Even if you go back to last year, that's a lot of intense baseball in a short period of time.
And the Tigers are also in a different situation this year.
They're front runners.
They've never had to deal with that before.
These young players are struggling.
Probably experiencing at one point they were up 15 games, I think, in the AL Central and that that's quickly dwindled to eight or nine as the Guardians heat up as well.
But you have some young players in a long season also faced with a different position with you're no longer the hungry, you're no longer the underdogs, you are now.
