But with Torkelson, I actually think the Tigers feel like he's really one of the pillars of their lineup and someone they have pretty high confidence in, at least right now.

They view it as two different things, stealing bases and taking the extra base.
Those are two different skills.
They manifest in two different ways on the field.
I think you're really looking at the value of an out when it comes to
stealing second base this isn't a team with a ton of team speed um but they have a little bit last time i looked i think the tigers had the third highest stolen base success rate that's been a couple weeks since i've looked but that did make me wonder like well could you run a little bit
I think there's a thought out there that you want to be 75% success rate or above basically for your risks to be worth it.
