i mean that is always the question people say how do we stay married and write books and actually it's it's quite fun to be able to write together and it's two brains instead of one working on a plot we write crime and thriller so being able to work through those naughty plot points together is is actually quite useful we never write in the same room that would definitely lead to divorce i'm
And you like to laugh at your own jokes when you're writing them.
They're very good jokes.
But we always have a chapter plan.
So it's very kind of prescriptive.
It's very detailed.
And so before we start writing, we have that set out.
Yeah, just after our daughter was born, we came up with the idea for a novel.
Our first novel, People Like Her, is about a parenting influencer.
And so about six months after our daughter was born, we came up with this idea for a plot and just sort of started writing.
And Paul had written a couple of novels.
So we did have a background in writing, but it wasn't until we had no social life and a six month old stuck in the house that we actually started to write a novel.
she's eight now because we know you're plotting a murder and you can't really when you're like well now she's got strong thoughts about uh you know about whether we should put a unicorn in the book um and have you gone for the unicorn idea it's a strong idea go for that okay so time to burn let's get into the book a story of time travel gone wrong what's happening
It's set in the very near future.
Commercial time travel is a reality and it's been perfected by this obsessive tech entrepreneur called Inigo Frank.
And he's offering the super wealthy trips back to the past as a leisure activity.
And he commissions a documentary to memorialise his achievements from a documentary maker called Phoebe Hunt.
And on her first day of filming, she's allowed to capture the return of a group of billionaires from the Blitz.
only to see it all go wrong as they turn up bloodied and one of their number has disappeared back in 1941.
Then she realises she's got a personal connection to Sasha, the girl that's gone missing in the past, and she knows she's not who she said she is.
