We do that all the time.
In the old days, I don't think there was ever a Collingwood versus Melbourne home game at Victoria Park that was moved to the M C G to
enable another fifty thousand people to come in.
Somehow that's been normalised.
And on top of that, one of the things and there people actually understand that, but there's another issue which I point out in the book, which is the away team obligations are not shared equally.
So for example, Hawthorne playing in Lawnceston and even Geelong in Geelong.
It's well recognised that other teams have less chance of winning there.
than they would say Hawthorne at the MCG.
But the obligation of playing Hawthorne in Launceston is only given to the interstate teams and the smaller Melbourne teams.
Geelong never goes there, Collingwood never goes there.
Richmond never goes there.
And so again, that's a serious compromising of fairness, which I think um uh is uh un untenable.
And of course you've got the grand final where we've opted to have the grand final at the MCG for the next forty years, which happens to be the home ground of four of the clubs who win a disproportionate number of premierships there.
And all I can s all you can say is that the Premier League, the NFL
Champions League would never do anything like that.
Do teams have a right to eternal life?
Um
That's yes, my choice of terminology there has attracted a bit of attention, but uh I don't think they do.
I mean this is one of the reasons why it's fair to say the
The Vict the competition's still a bit Victorian centric.
