So Dan I think is right about that.

I don't know that Mr Hegseth really understands the implications of what he was saying.

Uh I mean I just don't because if you've been to war and you understand the kind of emotion that can be unleashed.

you're you're much more careful about what you say.

I think there's a lot of cheerleading that goes on.

Uh soldiers that were in Iraq in two thousand three, four, five and six told me and some of them had served with me 'cause I left the army in uh

June of two thousand and four.

And they told me that their commanders would say, Well, we're here to build liberal democracy and uh protect these people and uh help them get their human rights and uh blah blah blah.

Of course the Irish soldier said, Are you nuts?
